Rhoeda’s Struggle with Osteoarthritis
Rhoeda’s battle with osteoarthritis began about ten years ago when she started experiencing pain in her knees. Her diagnosis only got worse over time and particularly affected her right knee. Rhoeda’s condition continued to worsen over time, reaching the point where she struggled to get out of bed in the morning due to the pain – while also reaching her heaviest weight of 110kg due to her sedentary lifestyle. Rhoeda was essentially bedridden, and her mobility was severely limited. She could barely walk and had to quit her office job because she couldn’t walk from the train station to get to where she worked. She became depressed, withdrew from her friends and family, and was on so many painkillers that she couldn’t see any hope.
Rhoeda’s Transformation
Fortunately, Rhoeda’s life changed after undergoing a total knee replacement in March 2021. Since the surgery, she has slowly regained her strength, lost over 30kg, and been able to make fitness a priority in her life again. She now trains 4-5 times a week and has been able to participate in competitions, including a bodybuilding competition last year. And now, at 55 years old, Rhoeda looks and feels better than she ever has before.
However, Rhoeda’s journey to health and fitness was not an easy one. She had to fight hard to regain her health and mobility. After the surgery, she went to physical therapy for six weeks, and at first, she couldn’t even take a basic step up. But three months after the surgery, she deadlifted 100 kg.
